Our Story

Two dogs. Two of us. One little family idea.

🐾
We're Claire and Eliza, the humans behind Waggy Tail Treats Co.
This is our first business venture together, and like most good ideas it started with our own dogs.

Meet the team

Missy

Missy

Missy is our seven-year-old golden retriever. She's sweet, gentle, slightly lazy, and has a notoriously sensitive stomach. Finding treats she can actually digest without it ending badly has been a years-long mission.

Storm

Storm

Storm is the new arrival. A four-month-old Australian Shepherd puppy with boundless energy and a jaw that has already destroyed two dog beds, a cushion, and his share of our shoes. He's a power chewer in training, and proudly so.

Why we started

Claire has been running Waggy Tail Walks, her dog walking business, for years. Lots of dogs, clients and conversations about what owners feed their dogs. The same theme kept coming up. People wanted simpler, more natural treats. They wanted to know what was in the bag. They wanted to support smaller, more ethical producers when they could find them. But finding all of that conveniently, without spending hours in pet shops reading labels, felt impossible.

Eliza spends her day job in marketing, working with brands she believes in and learning what makes some companies feel honest and others feel hollow. She's spent years thinking about the unglamorous side of business that actually matters: how brands earn customer trust, what good design looks like, how to communicate clearly without all the corporate noise. Watching Claire navigate the treat aisle for her clients and dogs was the spark.

We talked about it for months. What if we curated the good stuff ourselves? What if we made it easy for dog owners to get genuinely natural treats delivered, with the variety they wanted and the quality they could trust?

Waggy Tail Treats Taster Box

A family business in the making

This isn't just a side hustle. It's our first joint venture as a couple, and we have proper plans for it.

We hope Waggy Tail Treats Co will grow into something real. Something we can pass down. Something that, in time, our children can get involved with for their first jobs, packing boxes, helping out, learning what it actually takes to run a small business.

It's a long game. Right now we're just at the beginning. But we're building it for the long term.

How we curate

Every box we send out is hand-packed by us, in small batches.

We work with approved British and European suppliers. Many of our gourmet treats come from Pet Treats Wholesale, who are based right here in Burton-on-Trent. Our long-lasting natural chews come from Anco Dog Treats, a Scottish family business with over 30 years of experience.

Every product passes our two-dog test. If Missy can eat it without her stomach protesting, and Storm can chew it without it lasting less than five minutes, it's in.

The rules we set ourselves from day one:

  • 100% natural ingredients. No artificial colours, fillers, or anything nasty.

  • Grain-free as standard. Better for sensitive tums and most dogs do better without.

  • Hand-curated, seasonally varied. Every box is a little different.

  • Honest pricing. No subscription tricks, no hidden fees, cancel anytime.

What’s coming next

This is just the start. We've got plans.

Top of the list is our Pick & Mix Box, where you'll be able to build your own box from scratch. Want eight yak chews and two pâtés? Done. Want a mix of everything we sell? Sorted. We'll have a range of individual treats available to choose from, with seasonal additions throughout the year. Total control, no surprises, your dog's perfect box.

Beyond that we've got seasonal hampers in the works (a Christmas box is already being planned), gifting options, single-product top-ups, and ideas for breed-specific and life-stage boxes.

If you've got thoughts on what you'd love to see, tell us. We're small enough to listen and act on it.
